Only one of the wrecks in the Swan River is protected by either the Maritime Archaeology Act 1973 (Western Australia), or the Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976 (Commonwealth).
The Swan Portland wreck is protected by State legislation. Lost in 1917, she lays 50m upstream of the Goodwood Parade boat ramp.
